Tuesday, October 11th, was the 60th Anniversary of the opening of the Second Vatican Council, otherwise known as Vatican II. When Saint Pope John XXIII announced that Vatican II would take place, he stated that, “the Catholic Church is set apart and distinguished by these three characteristics: unity of doctrine, unity of organization, unity of worship”. Last Tuesday, on this historic anniversary in the life of the Church, the City of Redlands’ Planning Commission unanimously approved our building project. This means that we will now finalize construction drawings in order for us to move forward and break ground at our new home at Lugonia and Dearborn next year. Thanks be to God! As we prepare to break ground, we will keep you updated on our progress. In the meantime, I ask all of you to enter more fully into our parish theme, “Be Transformed”. Let us we pray and work together as we strive for a greater “unity of organization” in practical matters so as to prepare for a “unity of worship” under one roof at our future home.
