In the Catholic liturgical year, the month of January is traditionally devoted to the Holy Name of Jesus. In the Philippines, January is also dedicated to the Santo Niño because of its profound historical impact. Spanish explorer - missionaries gifted the Sultan of Cebu Province with an image of the Holy Christ Child - the Santo Niño in Spanish. Subsequently, the natives were then converted to Christianity.
THIS YEAR marks the 500th Anniversary of the founding of Christianity in the Philippines!
For those who are healthy and able to attend, please arrive early because seating is limited to 100 people. Please wear a mask and bring your Sto. Niño statue for a blessing. In lieu of our traditional feast, we are providing hospitality to-go.
